Book Review

In early 2008, the author learned, much to his dismay, that a lot of things in scripture that he had assumed were yet to happen, were already history.

Motivated and somewhat alarmed, he began a journey to unlock the truth behind the prophecies of the end of the age, and current events. With the help and leadership of numerous men of faith, he discovered that today’s news reports are steadily revealing prophecies from thousands of years ago.

After finding America clearly depicted in the Bible, and finding out who the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse really are, this thrilling search for truth proceeded in earnest. Whatever your current beliefs about the end-times are, you will find this an exciting and challenging look into what the Bible has to say about yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

End Time Nations

To find out where we are in God’s master plan, we really should know if He mentions us in scripture in more than just a personal relationship way.

So it’s time to take a fresh look at some old subjects. The reason that these things have been hidden for so long is an important starting point. To ease the fears that some of you may have…I am NOT going to upset the applecart and start preaching weird new doctrines that fly in the face of established biblical truth. What is happening is exactly what God said would happen.

Look at Daniel 12:8 - 9 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. These things were hidden from the very prophet who got them from the Lord!  We are not holier, smarter or in any way superior to Daniel…we are just fortunate to be living in the time that God reserved for the revelation of these things! It was His plan to keep them hidden until they were needed. This isn’t the first time He’s done this.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Do you think that Satan (prince of this world) would have crucified Jesus if he had understood the plan of salvation? It was hidden from him for us!

Jesus taught in parables. And his disciples couldn’t understand why…

Luke 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

For reasons of His own, He showed what He wanted to whomever He wanted.

It may sound like a cyclical argument, (but it isn’t) if we are in the endtimes…we need to know these things…and since we are beginning to know these things…we must be in the endtimes!

One of the most frustrating questions I’ve ever had to field…especially from a non-believer…is “Why isn’t America in the scriptures?” Many theologians have cooked up all kinds of answers to that question. I was satisfied that we were in the scriptures, but playing a minor role. That seemed to me to mean that we would either have lost our position in the world (collapsed like Rome on our own filthiness) or weakened by war or some other tragedy.

Here is where I got those ideas…

Ezekiel 38 and 39 describes a concerted attack on Israel by Russia (Gog & Magog  the mountains of Russia), chief prince of Meshech (Moscow-  Capital city) and Tubal (Tubalsk – Eastern capital city) the Arab countries (Persia, Ethiopia, Libya) Germany (Gomer) and Turkey (Togarma). This attack is at a time when Israel is at peace and feels safe. Therefore it has to happen after the antichrist and his one-world government has given Israel the false sense of safety under his protection.

The reason I believe that it happens then is because a “confirming of the Covenant” by the Anti-Christ and the world government with Israel marks the start of those last seven years.  Israel will think they’re safe under the Anti-Christ’s protection. If the world government is for you…who can be against you? Even though the first 3 ½ years of that seven year period is reasonably peaceful, and the last 3 ½ years are sheer hell on earth…there is no way that man, without God, can keep the peace. Driven by lust…war is inevitable.

So when Russia with its allies begin their march on Israel to wipe it from the face of the earth a set of nations objects to it …

Ezekiel 38:13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

This group of nations lodges what sure sounds to me like a United Nations formal complaint…but with no real teeth to it! Interestingly enough…no more is heard from this group in this prophecy at all! No action - just talk! The “merchants of Tarshish” is easily identified as England. Tarshish was the country farthest to the west that traded tin (Tarshish means – “land of tin”) and other goods with the “Middle East”.  The “merchants” refer to the fact that England built their empire on their merchant marine and world-wide trade. The name Great Britain also means “land of tin”. And finally consider that their empire had and has an animal as their insignia … the Lion.

It seemed reasonable then (and still does) that “the young lions thereof” refers to the colonies, and countries that originated from England…one of which is the USA!

That was the only reference to the USA that I could find! Boy was I blind!
